The Hamilton Community of Mindful Living is a group of people who have the common desire to weave mindfulness into daily activities.
This enables us to be present throughout the day – while eating, walking, working, or enjoying a cup of tea.
The group is based on the teachings of a Zen Buddhist monk called Thich Nhat Hanh.
His teachings help us develop our capacity to dwell happily in the present moment and to find peace within ourselves.
Though some of us call ourselves Buddhists, we are not a Buddhist group; we are focused on living mindfully.
“The past is gone, the future is not yet here, and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment, we cannot be in touch with life.”
We believe mindfulness enhances all spiritual traditions.
We find support and inspiration from meeting regularly with others who want to cultivate a heart and mind of love, awareness, peacefulness and kindness.
We aim to experience joy and ease in our pursuits, keeping it real with the laughter, sanity, and friendship that bloom from practicing mindfulness together.
We share a commitment to live in an awakened way, support one other in our life journeys, and to cultivate peace within.
